The longest practice in a person’s life is never to please others, but to treat oneself well. We are always busy accommodating others, catering to life, caring about others’ opinions, and dwelling on others’ evaluations, but often overlook our inner exhaustion and grievances. In fact, true maturity is to understand the ordinariness of life, learn to get along with oneself gently, accept the imperfect self, and slowly heal one’s life.
To learn to get along with oneself, one must first learn to accept all imperfections. Everyone has flaws, makes mistakes, and experiences moments of confusion, anxiety, and failure. There is no need to self doubt due to a single mistake, nor to secretly consume oneself due to lack of excellence. Life is about experiencing and growing at the same time, accepting one’s own ordinariness and shortcomings, in order to unload the burden in the heart and live a relaxed and comfortable life.
Learn to get along with yourself and know how to let go of yourself appropriately. Life always has regrets, relationships always have ups and downs, many things do not come to fruition with effort, and many people cannot be together without cherishing them. There is no need to dwell on past regrets or overly anxious about the future that has not happened. Letting go of obsession and entanglement, allowing everything to go naturally, is the gentlest way for adults to heal themselves.
Learn to get along with yourself and cherish your ordinary self. When tired, take a break appropriately, when sad, let go calmly, don’t try to be strong in everything, don’t be comprehensive in everything. Eat well, sleep well, love life well, please yourself in trivial days, enrich your heart in plain time, being alone is not loneliness, but the best time for self precipitation and self healing.
In just a few decades of life, the most precious thing is never the recognition of others, but the inner peace. Learn to reconcile with yourself, treat yourself gently at every stage, without anxiety, internal conflicts, or entanglements. Walk slowly and live well. You will find that a peaceful and comfortable heart is the best state of life.
